Toontrack has knocked another one right out of the park. While EzBass doesn’t quite stand up under close inspection as a purely solo bass guitar instrument, it is leaps and bounds ahead of all the competition when it comes to its most important role of aiding songwriters to compose music.

From an idea brainstorming perspective alone, this is well worth double the asking price. I’m not aware of anything on the market that even comes close, so for grassroots songwriting, this is the best investment you’ll make.

EZdrummer 2 is a wonderful piece of software. It’s well-designed and sounds fantastic. It’s a little on the simplistic side next to Superior Drummer, but oftentimes you don’t need or have time for all the extra features.
