UVI releases UVX80, a new library featuring the sounds of a rare ‘80s Japanese polysynth, including over 250 new patches, dual-layer architecture, built-in effects and more
Paris, July 5th, 2017 – UVI releases UVX80, a new library featuring sounds inspired by a rare ‘80s Japanese analog polysynth, including over 250 new patches, dual-layer architecture, built-in modulation and effects and an intuitive, hardware-inspired interface. The debut release of a now well-known Japanese brand, this 8-voice analog synth was flexible and feature-rich, sporting 2 DCOs capable of cross-modulation, a sub-oscillator, two EGs and two filters per voice. Capable of a wide sonic range, this synth delivers everything from rich modulating pads to punchy leads and bells with ease. Available now for the first time as a dedicated UVI instrument, you can experience the distinctly charactered analog tones of this obscure ‘80s gem with the convenience and flexibility of modern software.
UVX80 features a 2-oscillator design, providing users with a large selection of presets to build patches with. Each oscillator has a configurable amp, filter and stereo section along with a customizable 16-step arpeggiator. Versatile modulation and effect sections allow users to easily add movement to their sounds and add high-quality reverb, delay, chorus, phaser and drive. A handy modwheel editor allows quick mapping of commonly reached-for parameters like vibrato and filter depth, and a notable omission on the original synth, portamento, has been added to round-out the feature set.
Over 250 custom-designed patches are provided in UVX80, demonstrating the synths versatile and characteristic analog sound. A dynamic collection covers everything from classic to modern styles, including arpeggios, bells, brass, bass, chords, keys, leads, pads, plucks strings, sweeps and more. Patches can be quickly browsed and even layered together to create a near-limitless variety of stacked sounds.
Presets in UVX80 can be further edited through an intuitive interface inspired by the ‘80s-futurism aesthetic of the original machine. The modern software controls allow users to make everything from subtle mix-based adjustments to creating completely new patches quickly and easily.
UVX80 offers native 64-bit standalone operation by way of Falcon or the free UVI Workstation, providing comprehensive support for all modern DAWs and simultaneous authorization on up to 3 computers or iLok keys.
