Cherry Audio Introduces Harmonia: A Next-Gen Virtual Synth Blending Nostalgia and Innovation
Cherry Audio, renowned for its pioneering synthesizers, is excited to unveil Harmonia, a groundbreaking virtual instrument merging the nostalgic charm of 80s and 90s vector and wave sequencing synthesizers with cutting-edge synthesis techniques and an intuitive interface. Developed by the same team behind Dreamsynth and Sines, Harmonia delivers rich, evolving polyphonic sounds, catering to musicians of all levels.
Harnessing additive synthesis, Harmonia’s two potent sample-based oscillators offer up to eight pitches tuned to harmonic series or semitone pitches. Users can choose between fixed or dynamic volume for each pitch harmonic, while Harmonia’s unique interpolated harmonic scanning facilitates sweeping soundscapes via a modulatable slider.
Featuring meticulously sampled waveforms from various sources and quirky “lo-fi” sounds, Harmonia offers a diverse tonal palette unmatched by most virtual instruments. It effortlessly supports user-imported samples, and experimenting with waveform selection and harmonic presets yields unique morphed and sequencer-like tones.
Harmonia elevates production with four syncable polyphonic LFOs, an expansive stereo multimode filter, and visual drag-and-drop filter and amp envelopes. An eight-slot mod matrix with numerous sources and destinations empowers producers to push creative boundaries.
Joe McGinty, renowned composer and keyboardist, praises Harmonia: “Harmonia is unlike any other synth that I’ve played. Part additive, part sample playback, and part vector synth. Many exciting presets are included, but I look forward to importing and manipulating my own samples.”
Harmonia includes Cherry Audio’s signature features like aftertouch support, flexible MIDI mapping, and over 350 professionally designed presets. It boasts 17 studio-quality effects, fully modulatable via the mod matrix, granting access to new sonic dimensions.
The Euphonic Sonics for Harmonia Preset Pack (sold separately) adds 100 stunning presets, enhancing Harmonia’s atmospheric tones, sequences, pads, basses, and more.
Cherry Audio continues its tradition of affordability, pricing Harmonia at only $49 (list $69). It’s available at cherryaudio.com and authorized resellers worldwide.
Harmonia supports AU, VST, VST3, AAX, and standalone formats for macOS (10.13 and above) and Windows (7 or above, including Windows 11), including native support for Apple’s M1 processor. A free 30-day demo is available.
